....I KEEP FORGETTING RL IS NOT FANDOM, GUYS. Apparently, most people believe there are two genders with a clear line that separates them. And maybe that's true for some people, but the whole THERE ARE MEN (ON MARS!) AND WOMEN (ON VENUS!) is such a bizarre concept to me.
Also, the surprise!racism at the end was... pleasant. My dad as this habit, tho. If he sees an opportunity to talk about the crazy japanese/violent muslims/[insert offensive statement about poc here], HE WILL TAKE IT.

I think it does pretty well for me in school, because whenever we talk about topics, especially about gener/sexuality, I tend to have stuff to add to the conversation. And sometimes, man, the look on people's faces. You wouldn't believe. We talked about how most people are a little bit racist, even inadvertently due to various factors in a pretty racist society, in one of my media classes yesterday. It was kinda interesting.
When my dad says racist things I tell him he's a horrible person. My brother thinks I'm a "crazy feminist". WHAT IS LIFE.

Hah, good for you tho! I've given up correcting him because he'll just rant about how it's SO MUCH WORSE in arabic countries and Western society is superior and do you know the Japanese ate their prisoners in WWII? ffffuuuuuu, WHAT IS LIFE indeed.

Okay, since Dad says Western society is sooooooo superior, take him to visit the True Crime section of your local bookstore, point out that the VAST majority of the criminals/psychos in those books are good old Western (i.e. white American males) society folk and say isn't it great we live in the Oh So Superior Less Violent West.

Today he actually made a comment about treatment of women in the Middle East vs treatment of women here (ie Western society is so progressive and awesome for women!!!11!1!) and I lol'd. Yeah, we're sooooooo awesome. Let me tell you about the 12 year old that just got gangraped in Texas and how some of the townspeople defended the men who did it. Now, dad, plz mansplain some more about how superior Western society is.

Like, the other day some extended family were talking about how there was no looting in Japan, unlike in Katrina where
black peopleeveryone went crazy. And then when I said the situations weren't equivalent they mocked me. fffffff
